I had quite a busy summer, that's why I didn't really have time and energy to maintain this journal. Well, "summer". I wouldn't really call this summer, I had to wear long sleeve clothes almost every day and caught a cold two or three times in 2 months.
A lot had happened, anyway. I finally finished filming my short film, and this really was hard work. I had to work with two six-year-old, none of which had ever acted before, so, ugh... But they are pretty good actors, so I hope I'll make a great film. I don't know when I'll be able to start editing, though.
During the summer, I spent most of my free time travelling around with an au pair girl from the Czech Republic, who came to Ireland for the summer. This is why I gave this entry such a silly title; I was desperate to learn how to pronounce the Czech letter ř, which is an extraordinary speech sound and I'd never heard it before. But she said that I was very good at pronouncing it. Anyway, we had so much fun together, and we had visited a few places that are not so far from here but I had not seen them before. Of course I took dozens of photos, some of which I'm going to upload here.
First of all, I finally went to the Hill of Slane, which I had wanted to see ever since I moved to Drogheda. It looks super cool.
The weird-looking tree that you can see next to the abbey is a Chilean pine tree. It was raining when we went up there, so we couldn't stay for long, but I'll definitely visit this place at least once more before I leave Drogheda.
Because, yeah, I'm going to leave Drogheda very soon. I decided to move up to the north in the middle of October and rent a flat in Belfast with my best friend. I'll miss this place so much, but I hope I'll find a great drama club or whatever there. I haven't acted in months.
Another interesting place we've visited is The Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre. We went into the museum and took a nice walk in the garden as well. The museum was a bit of a disappointment for me, I had expected it to be bigger... This was one of the most important battles in the history of Ireland, after all. But it was quite interesting, and the garden is beautiful.
As you can see, this photo was taken in the garden. I was told that it had not been the actual battlefield, but it doesn't really matter, it just looks cool with that stone in the grass. I took some pictures in the museum, too, but they didn't come out so well because it was too dark inside the building and I wasn't allowed to use flash.
Aaand, finally, another one of my favourite Irish landmarks: the Donaghmore Round Tower near Navan, Co. Meath.
So that's it. She left Ireland in the end of August, and I miss her so much because now I don't really have anyone to spend my days off with :( But I'll go to Hungary for 10 days in less than 2 weeks, and when I come back with my best friend, we will move up to Belfast, which is sooo exciting!
